Thank you very much for the suggestion : I simply need a way to write the image of my simple OS on average floppy disks, so cheapness is more important than exoticism, at least for now. If I'll ever need to port my OS to some older or less commin machines, I'll surely check out your suggestion!
A USB floppy should do then. I found one on Amazon, 31 EUR or so. That's almost three times as much as what you said, but the only one with reviews around your price slightly above would have a fairly long shipping time. I have 2 floppy drives, both panasonic, and enough power cables. I found a floppy ribbon cable the other day which has an extra plug for the second device and one which i think is for the really old 5. I have tried everything from browsing my bios to using install new hardware, and i cant get the second devie to work.

Start or search. Open the computer case and connect the floppy drive to the computer using screws or a bracket. After installing the floppy drive, connect the floppy interface cable small gray flat cable to the back of the floppy drive. The floppy cable has a side with a blue or red line indicating pin number one. This side of the cable points to the power connection. If your computer floppy cable has three connections or a twist in the cable, verified it's connected correctly by referring to the picture below.
Today, most computers and computer floppy disk drives have cables that only have two connections: one for the motherboard and one for the floppy disk drive. If your cable only has two connections, the above picture does not apply. After connecting the floppy interface cable, connect the drive power cable to the back of the floppy disk drive. This cable is relatively small, compared to the majority of power cables coming from the power supply. Once the floppy drive is fully connected to the computer, put the case back on the computer.
