VueScan is easy to use and it worked perfectly for me. You just get some slight modded generic Firewire drivers and install them and set it up and then the scanner works fine. The Minolta scanner software will not run under Win 7, but since you are already using Vuescan, this will not be a problem. In order to get the scanner interface to work you need to find a SCSI card that is supported by Windows 7 bit in my case. I think the Vuescan software is much better than the original Minolta program and the whole set-up works like a charm.
